This episode we talk to Jon Kielty, Head Brewer for BIG aLICe Brewing Company in Queens, New York, Starting off brewing one-off brews, they quickly found their niche with awesome flavors and a brewing philosophy that includes using local products from sustainable sources. “As a licensed New York State farm brewery, our beers support local and state agriculture. We partner with state hop farmers and maltsters to source ingredients, and collaborate with local Queens businesses for specialty ingredients such as cold brew coffee, donuts, honey, and beyond. ” In segment 2, maybe it’s because St Paddy’s day is in a couple weeks and the Shamrock shake is back, but there are a lot of questions about mint on the socials this week. We’ll discuss how to use mint, what flavor combinations might work and encourage our listeners to send us your recipe for a possible spot on the show. And as usual, we wrap with the Social Club, where we try and answer questions with no formal expertise other than what we’ve experienced in our own brewhouse!
